Tawni Turcotte Shannon, CRS-DC, has a diverse background in resource management, event security, and advocacy. Currently serving as the 211 Maine Resource Manager at The Opportunity Alliance since January 2019, Tawni oversees the 211 Maine Resource Directory, ensuring high-quality resource information and supervising a team of Database Curators. Previous roles include Event Security Staff at Beowulf Security Consultants LLC and Show Dawg Professional Services, a Shelter Services Advocate at Through These Doors, and various positions at Hannaford Supermarkets. Tawni also has experience in grassroots organizing with Planned Parenthood of Northern New England. Educational credentials include a Graduate Certificate in Health Administration and a Women's Leadership Certificate from Franklin Pierce University, where Tawni earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature.

The Opportunity Alliance (TOA) is a dynamic, results-focused Community Action Agency providing approximately 50 integrated community-based and clinical programs serving more than 20,000 people annually throughout the state of Maine. With over 50 years of experience, TOA draws from a comprehensive set of programs which address issues such as mental health, substance use, homelessness, lack of basic needs, and access to community supports.
