Rob Shield

Rob Shield has a strong background in software engineering and team management. Rob is currently employed as the Senior Director of Engineering at The Orchard since May 2022. Before this, they worked as a Software Engineering Manager at the same company from September 2019 to May 2022. Prior to The Orchard, Rob worked as a Principal Software Engineer at M2A Media from April 2018 to September 2019, where they focused on AWS scaled infrastructure for processing and distributing live video streams. Before that, they spent several years at the BBC, starting as a Software Engineer in April 2010 and gradually moving up to roles such as Senior Software Engineer and Team Lead and finally Principal Software Engineer and Team Lead. At the BBC, Rob was involved in designing and building cloud-based workflow systems for linear broadcast video and managing teams of developers. Rob also worked at COMPLINET LIMITED as a Software Developer from January 2008 to April 2010. Overall, Rob Shield has extensive experience in software engineering and team leadership across various companies in the media and technology industry.

Rob Shield has a Master's degree in Computer Science from London Metropolitan University. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Liverpool.
