Joe Gaunt

Joe Gaunt has over 18 years of experience in the health and wellness industry. Joe began their career in 2003 as a Cluster Manager/General Manager Trainer at Fitness First UK. In 2009, they moved to Virgin Active as the UK Head of Sales, Regional Director of Operations, Regional General Manager (Ops Director), and Regional Sales Manager. In 2013, Joe became the Managing Director and Group Commercial Director at Reward Gateway, where they were responsible for employee engagement technology for leading companies. In 2016, Joe took on the role of Managing Director at WeWork. In 2017, they founded and became the CEO of hero, a technology and service company focused on health behaviour change. In 2018, they became the CEO of heroPro. In 2021, Joe joined The People Experience Hub as a Non-Executive Director.

Joe Gaunt began their educational journey in 1998 when they attended Park Lane College and earned an Advanced GNVQ in Leisure and Tourism. In 2000, they transferred to York St. John University and completed a 2:1 (Hons) in Psychology in 2003. In 2020, they completed a Master's degree in Health Psychology at The Manchester Metropolitan University. Currently, they are working towards a Doctorate in Health/Medical Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
