Emmie Calland has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. From 2007 to 2011, they worked at Epic, where they held roles as an Application Manager and Systems Analyst/Project Manager. Following that, from 2011 to 2012, they worked as a Patient Advocate at St. Vincent Medical Center. In 2012, they joined Nordic Consulting Partners as a Senior Consultant until 2014. Their most recent position is at The Pittsburgh Foundation, where they have held multiple roles since 2016, including Center for Philanthropy Fellow, Strategic Initiatives Manager, and Senior Manager for the Center for Philanthropy & Strategic Initiatives. Currently, they serve as the Director of Strategic Projects and Foundation Initiatives at The Pittsburgh Foundation.
Emmie Calland's education history begins in 2003 when they attended the University of Notre Dame. Emmie completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Honors Anthropology in 2007. During their time at Notre Dame, they also obtained Epic Certifications in Ambulatory, ED, and MyChart from Epic.
After a gap of several years, they pursued further education in 2014 at the University of Pittsburgh. Emmie earned a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) degree in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management in 2016.
In addition to their formal education, Emmie Calland has also obtained various certifications. In 2018, they became a Certified Practitioner of Human Centered Design from the LUMA Institute. In 2020, they obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. Continuing their professional development, they completed the "Beyond Strategic Planning: From Implementation To Sustainment" course from the Professional Development - Harvard Division of Continuing Education in December 2022. Most recently, in June 2023, they completed the "Women Leaders: Advancing Together Senior Managers" course from the same institution.
