The Port
Rahiel Michael has a diverse work experience in government and community affairs. In 2011, they interned at Kroger's Corporate Affairs Department, where they worked closely with the Director of Government Relations and the Director of External Communications. They developed and produced an emerging issues summary and also presented on public affairs at a company-wide meeting. From 2013 to 2017, Rahiel worked as a Constituent Services Advocate at the Office of United States Senator Sherrod Brown. In 2017, they joined the Office of Mayor John Cranley, starting as a Legislative Aide and eventually serving as the Deputy Chief of Staff, Director of Legislative Affairs, and Chief of Staff until 2022. Currently, Rahiel is the Vice President of Government and Community Affairs at The Port.
Rahiel Michael completed a Master's Degree in Private Interests & Public Good from Xavier University, which took place between 2015 and 2017. Prior to that, from 2009 to 2013, Rahiel achieved an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics, and the Public also from Xavier University.

The Port is a public, mission-driven development finance agency focused on revitalizing Hamilton County, OH, neighborhoods and legacy urban industrial sites. A port authority under Ohio Revised Code Chapter 4582, our diverse suite of programs and initiatives are structured to make significant impact to improve our region in ways that reduce poverty, improve land value and create well-paying jobs. The foundation of our work is putting real estate back to work for everyone in Hamilton County. The Port collaborates with dozens of economic development, community and corporate partners, and is governed by a board of directors appointed in equal number by the City of Cincinnati and Hamilton County.
