Erica Y. Williams

Erica Williams currently serves as the Chair of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) since January 2022. Prior to this role, Erica was a Partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP from May 2017 to January 2022. Between October 2015 and January 2017, Erica worked in the White House as a Special Assistant to the President and Associate Counsel. Erica's extensive experience at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from February 2004 to October 2015 included positions as Deputy Chief of Staff, Counsel to the Chairman, and Assistant Chief Litigation Counsel, where Erica provided legal counsel and led trial efforts in significant cases. Earlier in Erica's career, from 1998 to 2004, Erica was a Litigation Associate at Arnold & Porter, engaging in complex commercial litigation. Erica holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Virginia.
