The Refuge, A Healing Place

Create Your Own Recovery Story The Refuge, A Healing Place is a residential treatment program that specializes in the treatment of PTSD, trauma, substance abuse, eating disorders and process addictions. Located in central Florida, amidst the picturesque Ocala National Forest, The Refuge offers programming that is designed to last anywhere from 30 days to one year, depending upon each person’s unique needs. The team of professionals at The Refuge believe that drug and alcohol addictions, as well as process addictions, are failed attempts at addressing underlying unresolved trauma. For this reason, they devote themselves to offering programming that helps individuals address these issues that have driven unhealthy coping mechanisms. At The Refuge, clients are not seen as the sum of their symptoms. Instead, they are viewed as the unique individuals that they are and are provided with customized treatment plans that help them achieve the healing that will allow them to thrive. Treatment at The Refuge is offered not only to clients who are presently struggling with addictions and/or suffering from the effects of PTSD and trauma but also to clients who have had difficulty remaining sober because of the underlying issues they have not yet been able to address. The Refuge also works with clients with no history of substance abuse, but do suffer from depression, anxiety and self-harm as a result of their trauma. Person-centered care is the driving force behind treatment planning at The Refuge, as well as in the delivery of the services offered. At The Refuge, the dedicated staff members are committed to meeting the needs of all clients by providing the highest level of quality treatment available.
