Faniya D. is a dedicated researcher with extensive experience in molecular and cellular biology. Currently serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at The Research Foundation for SUNY since January 2021, Faniya D. has led investigations into inflammation and pain pathways using advanced biochemical techniques. Prior internship experience includes a role at Eli Lilly and Company as a TDA Intern, where Faniya D. optimized mass spectrometry protocols for biomarker identification. Faniya D. has also contributed to undergraduate education as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Stony Brook University and has engaged in significant research projects at Norfolk State University and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, resulting in peer-reviewed publications and hands-on expertise in various laboratory techniques. Faniya D. is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology at Stony Brook University, building on a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Norfolk State University.

The Research Foundation for SUNY
The Research Foundation for the State University of New York (RF) is the largest, most comprehensive university-connected research foundation in the country. It exists to serve the State University of New York (SUNY) by providing essential sponsored programs administration and innovation support services to SUNY faculty, students and staff who perform life-changing research in life sciences and medicine; engineering and nanotechnology; physical sciences and energy; social sciences; and computer and information sciences.
