Cory Darden Milam has extensive experience in technology and informatics roles. Cory is currently serving as the Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at The Rockefeller Foundation since August 2021.

Prior to their current role, Cory worked at the FDA for a significant period. From August 2015 to August 2021, they held the position of Director Technology Innovation at the FDA, where they were responsible for providing strategic direction and identifying how technology can be used to maximize the agency's ability to protect public health. Cory also served as the Deputy Chief, Health Informatics Officer from April 2015 to August 2015, playing a critical role in acquiring, storing, retrieving, and utilizing large datasets to evaluate and regulate FDA products. Before that, from April 2013 to April 2015, they served as the Associate Deputy CIO and Director of Business Informatics at the Center of Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN). In this role, they led informatics activities, built strategic partnerships, and managed key projects to support the center's long-term strategic goals. Prior to that, from November 2009 to April 2013, Cory started their civilian/federal career as an IT Project Manager/Team Lead at CFSAN.

Earlier in their career, Cory worked as an IT Project Manager at HPTi from July 2007 to November 2009 and as a Project Scheduler/Business Operations Analyst at SRA International from March 2004 to May 2006.

Cory Darden Milam has a strong educational background in project management. They obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Project Management from The George Washington University School of Business, which they completed between 2012 and 2015. Prior to that, they earned a Master's Certificate in Project Management from the same institution, completing it in 2011.

Their undergraduate education was completed at the University of the Potomac, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, General. This degree was attained by 2003.

In addition to their academic background, Cory Darden Milam has pursued further certifications to enhance their professional expertise. Notably, they hold a certification as a Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer from ISACA, which was obtained in October 2020. They are also a Project Management Professional (PMP) certified by the Project Management Institute, with their accreditation achieved in August 2011.
