Sarah Buck

Director of Production at The Rose Theater

Sarah Buck is the current Director of Production at The Rose Theater. Sarah previously worked as a Sensory Friendly Program Developer at Barter Theatre from March 2017 to December 2019. In this role, Sarah co-founded the Barter Players Sensory Friendly Program, a program that was established for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families to enjoy live theatre. Sarah led detailed training with staff, actors, and others on what to expect, conflict management, and longevity of the program. Sarah also designed social narratives, character cards, and other sensory friendly resources and documents for those with sensory sensitivities. In addition to their work with the Sensory Friendly Program, Sarah also lead and participated in outreach and donor events to market the new series and produce funding for the program.

Before their work at Barter Theatre, Sarah was a freelance stage manager and a jewelry consultant at Zale Jewelers. Sarah has a passion for live theatre and has dedicated their career to making it accessible for everyone.

Sarah Buck studied theatre at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where they concentrated in stage management. Sarah earned their bachelor's degree from the school.

Sarah Buck reports to Matt Gutschick, Artistic Director. Sarah Buck works with Jackson Curtright - Technical Director & Master Carpenter, Sherri Geerdes - Costume & Makeup Director. Some direct reports include Devon Denn-Young - Props Mistress, Trent Grooms - Scenic Charge Artist, and Lisa Krabbenhoft - Resident Stage Manager.
