Amritpal Chaggar

Amritpal Chaggar is a highly experienced optometrist and educator with a robust background in various roles within the optical and academic fields. Currently serving as an Expert Witness for the General Optical Council since February 2018, Amritpal also supervises pre-registration optometrists at the College of Optometrists and holds positions on the Independent Prescribing Reference Group. With extensive experience as a Workplace Based Assessor for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, Amritpal has contributed to the education of future optometrists as a Visiting Lecturer at multiple universities, including City, University of London and Coventry University. As Clinical Lead Optometrist at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire, Amritpal leverages a comprehensive educational background, including a Doctor of Optometry from Aston University and various postgraduate qualifications in clinical optometry and therapeutics.
