Neil Golightly has a diverse work experience. Neil is currently the Head of Marketing and Communications at The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh since May 2023. In 2022, they served as a Board Member at Scottish Adoption. Prior to that, Neil was the Head of Brand and Communications at Worldwide Cancer Research from January 2022 to May 2023. Neil was responsible for leading the Brand & Communications Team and implemented a new brand strategy. Neil managed the development and launch of the Curestarter campaign. Neil also has experience working at Cairn Housing Association as a Business Improvement Manager, Tenant Participation and Engagement Manager, and Development Officer from 2005 to 2022. Neil started their career as a Community Development Manager at The Ark Trust from 2000 to 2004.
Neil Golightly completed their education at various institutions. In 1996, they attended Edinburgh's Telford College, where they pursued a Higher National Diploma in Design and Typography, completing it in 1998. Later, in 2003, Neil enrolled at Glasgow Caledonian University and obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Management by the following year.
In 2013, Neil obtained a certification as an EFQM European Assessor from Quality Scotland institution.
Most recently, from 2020 to 2022, Neil studied at Queen Margaret University, earning a CIPR Professional Public Relations Diploma. Their field of study during this program was Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication.
