Eng. Mazen Mokhtar is a highly experienced professional in geospatial data management and intelligence, currently serving as the Geospatial Data Management and Intelligence Manager at The Royal Commission for AlUla since February 2019. Previously, Mazen held roles such as GIS Operation Consultant at UN-Habitat and Alumni Development for Aquinas High School, where skills in GIS analysis and project management were applied to enhance alumni fundraising efforts. Earlier experience includes a position as a geomatics engineer at the Saudi Geological Survey. Mazen holds a Master of Science in Geographic Information Systems from the University of Redlands and a Bachelor's degree in Geomatics from King AbdulAziz University.

The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) was established to protect and safeguard AlUla, a region of outstanding natural and cultural significance in North-West Saudi Arabia. RCU is embarking on a long-term plan to develop and deliver a sensitive, sustainable transformation of the region, reaffirming it as one of country’s most important archaeological and cultural destinations and preparing it to welcome visitors from around the world. RCU’s development work in AlUla encompasses a broad range of initiatives across archaeology, tourism, culture, education and the arts, reflecting the ambitious commitment to cultivate tourism and leisure in Saudi Arabia, outlined in Vision 2030.
