Chris O'Brien has extensive work experience in various roles related to IT and technology. Chris began their career at Colespar in 1984 as a Team Supervisor. From 1986 to 1990, they worked at RITA Ltd as a Programmer, where they developed box office and theatre management systems. Afterward, they joined CHA as a Senior Programmer from 1990 to 1993. In 1993, they became a Systems Developer at the University of Leicester. Chris then joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1997 and held the position of Head of Information Technology until 2014. From 2014 to 2018, they served as the Chief Information Officer, and since September 2018, they have been the Director of Estates and IT. In addition to their work at the Royal Shakespeare Company, Chris also worked as the General Manager for THE LOFT THEATRE COMPANY from 2015 to 2018.
Chris O'Brien completed their MBA in Business from Oxford Brookes University between 2007 and 2010. Prior to that, they attended Writtle University College from 1981 to 1984, focusing on Commercial Horticulture. Their education journey began at Lawrence Sheriff, Rugby, where they studied from 1974 to 1980, though no specific degree or field of study is mentioned for this period.
