Bethany Marcel

Bethany Marcel is an experienced professional with a strong background in editing and writing. Currently serving as an Assistant Editor at The Rumpus since March 2021, Bethany is responsible for reviewing and scoring nonfiction manuscripts. Bethany also maintains a freelance writing and editorial service since 2015, producing content for various publications including Romper and Literary Hub. Recently, Bethany held the position of Temporary Managing Editor at PDX Parent and previously worked as a Contributing Editor for Barren Magazine. Earlier career roles include Employment Specialist at Community Vision, Inc., and ESL Teacher for the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. Bethany holds a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from Western Washington University.
