Everett Au

Program Specialist, Environmental Initiatives at The San Diego Foundation

Everett Au is currently a Program Specialist for Environmental Initiatives at The San Diego Foundation. Prior to that, they served as an AmeriCorps VISTA Discovery Fellow: Resource Development for Ocean Discovery Institute from February 2017 to January 2018. In this role, they were responsible for building the internal capacity of Ocean Discovery’s Resource Development Department through the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of all new gifts under $25k; developing and enhancing donor tracking tools and databases; and Razor's Edge (nonprofit fundraising software) database entry and maintenance. From June 2015 to July 2016, Everett served as a Sustainability Aide for the City of Thousand Oaks where they assisted Thousand Oaks’ Public Works Department to implement and expand their environmental programs. In accordance with AB 341, they assessed over 90 commercial businesses’ solid waste, recycling, and organics recycling activities. Everett also created and maintained a comprehensive database to track operational logistics for Thousand Oaks’ Household Hazardous Waste Facility. Lastly, they provided data analysis support for California green business legislation. Everett began their service with AmeriCorps VISTA as an Afterschool Programs Coordinator from September 2012 to September 2013.

Everett Au is a 2020 PLACES Fellowship cohort member at The Funders Network. Everett has also completed an Organizing for Justice Training at Midwest Academy and an Outdoor Leaders Initiative: 2019 Cohort at University of San Diego. Everett's highest level of education is a Master's Degree in Public Policy and Administration from California Lutheran University. Everett also holds a Bachelor of Science in Earth Sciences from University of California, Santa Cruz.
