Lillian Cox is an experienced freelance writer and communications expert, operating as a freelance writer for The San Diego Union-Tribune and San Diego Magazine since 2002 and 2007, respectively. As the owner of Lillian Cox Communications since 1981, Lillian provides a comprehensive range of communications services, including research, writing, and media relations. In 1997, Lillian founded the Washington Secretaries History Project, which documents the personal stories of civil servants in the nation's capital. Additional roles include serving as oral historian for former Encinitas Mayor Maggie Houlihan, media writer for the San Diego County Fair, and various positions in the nonprofit sector. Earlier career experience includes working as an executive secretary in the White House and serving in the Republican National Committee's communications department during the late 1960s. Lillian holds a B.S. in Sociology and Journalism from San Diego State University.
