Lisa Shao has had a diverse range of work experiences. Lisa started their career as a Clinical Research Coordinator at St. Michael's Hospital in 2014. Lisa then worked as a Molecular Biology Researcher at both The Hospital for Sick Children and the University of Toronto. During their time at the University of Toronto, they also took on roles as a Teaching Assistant, Lead Residence Advisor, Residence Advisor, and Learning Facilitator. In 2019, Lisa worked as a Freelance Medical Editor at the Toronto Bioscience Consulting Group before moving on to become a Medical Editor at Klick. At Klick, they developed scientific and medical copy, performed end-to-end validation of project content, and collaborated with cross-functional teams. Lisa then joined integrated medhealth communication North America as a Medical Writer, developing content for various medical and scientific deliverables. Currently, Lisa is working at The Scienomics Group as an Assistant Medical Director, where they provide strategic and tactical direction for medical affairs and commercial teams, proposes new digital opportunities, and attends key congresses.
Lisa Shao has completed an Honours Bachelor of Science (H.B.Sc.) degree in Cell and Molecular Biology Co-op at the University of Toronto. Additionally, they have also obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in the Department of Molecular Genetics from the same university.
