Improv Teacher at The Second City

Jess Elfring-Roberts has a diverse work experience spanning different organizations and roles. In 2022, they joined The Second City as an Improv Teacher, where they are a faculty member of the Second City Improv Program. Prior to this, in 2022, they worked as the Executive Director at Episcopal Camps & Conference Centers. Furthermore, they founded and served as the Lead Facilitator of Improv for Change since 2016. From 2016 to 2022, they were a Theatre teacher at Noble Network of Charter Schools. Before that, from 2012 to 2016, they held the position of Director of Youth and Family Ministries at Church of Our Saviour, Episcopal Church, Chicago, IL. Jess also served as the Assistant Director at Camp Chicago from 2004 to 2016. Additionally, from 2012 to 2016, they were the Assistant for Youth Ministry at Episcopal Diocese of Chicago, where they were involved in program development for youth and served as an Assistant Camp Director. Lastly, from 2004 to 2011, they worked as the Weekend Manager at Camp Algonquin.

Jess Elfring-Roberts holds a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Educational/Instructional Technology, which was obtained from Moreland University from 2020 to 2021. Prior to that, Jess earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Acting and Comedy from Columbia College Chicago between 2006 and 2008. Furthermore, in 2012, Jess pursued Diaconal Studies from the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago. In addition to the formal education, Jess has also obtained certifications in Diaconal Studies from the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago and in Clinical Pastoral Education from Rush University Medical Center in 2012. Lastly, Jess has an undisclosed certification in Outdoor Education from George Williams College.
