The Seeing Eye
Hillary Alpert, GDMI, CDTK, is a seasoned professional in canine training and education with extensive experience in various roles. Currently serving as a Guide Dog Mobility Instructor at The Seeing Eye since November 2019, Hillary previously acted as a consultant for CATCH Canine Trainers Academy from June 2020 to March 2023 and was Program Director there from August 2017 to November 2019, focusing on training future dog trainers globally. With a background as a self-employed dog trainer since 2003, Hillary has worked in various training modalities, including obedience and service dog training. Additional experience includes pivotal roles at PETCO, including Pet Stylist and Canine Education Instructor, where management and teaching responsibilities were key. Hillary's early career includes work as a veterinary technician and a student teacher in forensics and anatomy. Educationally, Hillary holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science/Animal Industries and Psychology from Rutgers University and an Education Certificate from the University of Western Florida for grades 6-12 in Biological and Physical Sciences.
