Matthew Borchelt's work experience includes a variety of roles in the retail industry. Matthew started their career in 1997 at Walmart, where they held positions such as Merchandise Assistant, Assistant Manager, District Manager Specialty Divisions, and Store Co-Manager. In these roles, they managed various aspects of store operations, including sales, inventory, merchandising, and staffing. Matthew also had responsibilities for financial management, budgeting, and expense control. In 2018, they joined The Sharing Center as Director of Retail Operations, where they oversaw the management of multiple retail programs. Matthew was later promoted to Senior Director of Strategic Impact and currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer. At The Sharing Center, they collaborated with departments to fulfill the organization's mission of providing and generating revenue to meet community needs.
Matthew Borchelt obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Central Florida, where they studied from 1991 to 1996. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications. In November 2020, they completed a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the Edyth Bush Institute for Philanthropy & Nonprofit Leadership at Rollins College. Prior to that, in April 2019, they obtained a Certificate in Board Member Orientation and a Certificate in Volunteer Management, also from the Edyth Bush Institute for Philanthropy & Nonprofit Leadership. In December 2017, Matthew obtained certifications in Learn Salesforce 2017: Lightning, Nonprofit Customer Relationship Management with Salesforce, and Job Hunting Online, all from LinkedIn.
