William E. Preston

William E. Preston is a highly experienced executive in the energy and engineering sectors, currently serving as Executive Vice President at The Shaw Group since April 2024, leading global fabrication and engineering businesses. In addition, Preston holds the position of Executive Director at the Global Syngas Technologies Council, promoting innovation and networking within the syngas industry since January 2020. Previously, as President and CEO of KP Engineering until May 2024, Preston directed a leading EPC business. A strong background includes pivotal roles at Linc Energy Systems, Synthesis Energy Systems, GreatPoint Energy, The Energy Capital Group, GE Energy, and Chevron, where leadership responsibilities spanned technology commercialization, project development, and global licensing. Preston earned a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Pomona College.
