The Sheffield College
Paul Smith is an experienced associate lecturer at The Sheffield College since May 2022, with a robust background in conservation and outdoor recreation. As the owner of Whistlewood from January 2013 to June 2022, Paul managed various aspects of conservation project management, focusing on practical work, environmental education, and consultancy. Paul served as an external consultant for the University of Derby’s School of Lifestyle and Culture from September 2009 to June 2022, facilitating real-world project experiences for students. Additional roles included being an external project provider for Derby College, leading the DEON Project aimed at inclusivity in outdoor environments, and volunteering with the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust. Paul holds a Joint Honours BA (Hons) in Outdoor Recreation and Countryside Management from the University of Derby, complemented by a BTEC National Diploma in Countryside Management from Derby College.
