Richard H. Remmer has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Richard H. began their career as an attorney specializing in natural resources, environmental, and real property law. Throughout their career, they have received recognition for their conservation efforts, including the Long Island Trout Unlimited Conservationist Award and the Long Island Maritime Museum Polaris Award. In addition to their legal work, Richard has served as a board member for the National Wildlife Refuge Association, Long Island State Parks Commission, Parks & Trails New York, and the Foundation for Long Island State Parks. Richard H. has also held leadership positions as the President of the Friends of Plum Island and the Friends of Pickman-Remmer Wetlands, Inc. Richard has been actively involved in various restoration and preservation projects, including the installation of a fire suppression system, restoration of historic structures, and reopening of a trout hatchery.
Richard H. Remmer completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Geology, Biology, and Environmental Studies at Williams College from 1973 to 1977. Richard H. then went on to pursue their Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree in Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Law at The University of Tulsa College of Law, from 1978 to 1981.
