Rutendo Mahowa

Rutendo Mahowa is an experienced mental health professional currently serving as a Call Center Supervisor at The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) since February 2022. Responsibilities include overseeing call center operations, assisting with case management, and supporting a team of lay and volunteer counsellors, while also conducting training, performance evaluations, and mental health talks. Previous roles at SADAG, including a Mental Health Counselor, involved administrative support and direct counseling. Rutendo also volunteered as a Student Volunteer at Lefika La Phodiso Community Art Counselling and Training Institute and as a Volunteer Counsellor at SADAG. Educational qualifications include a Master of Social Science in Community Mental Health Promotion from SACAP and an Honors BA in Psychology from the University of the Witwatersrand.
