Garrett Smith is an experienced aerospace engineer currently serving as a Stress Engineer II at The Spaceship Company since June 2019. Prior to this role, Garrett worked as a Research Engineer at the National Institute for Aviation Research from March 2017 to May 2019, contributing to significant projects such as validating a Regularized Extended Finite Element Modeling software for NASA's Advanced Composite Consortium and predicting strength knockdown in composite materials due to defects through automated fiber placement analysis. Garrett holds a degree in Aerospace Engineering with a focus on Structures from Wichita State University, earned between 2014 and 2019.

The Spaceship Company (TSC) is Virgin Galactic’s aerospace-system manufacturing organization.
