Ben Gracewood

Ben Gracewood is the CTO at The Spinoff and was previously the Chief Experience Officer - Experience Engineering at Westpac New Zealand Limited.

Ben has over seven years of experience building effective engineering teams, and has been involved in company strategy at the highest level. Ben has grown a team from 8 to nearly 100 members, and has implemented multiple changes to organization and process along the way.

Ben Gracewood has modeled the software engineering capability not on our global competitors or local companies, but on world-class engineering teams including those at Netflix, Apple and Slack. Ben has visited with those companies (and more) in Silicon Valley to validate this approach, and learn which principles and processes we should adopt (or adapt).

Ben Gracewood has a BSc in Computer Science from The University of Auckland, and is certified as a Scrum Master from the Scrum Alliance.
