Marek Bakun

Marek Bakun is the current Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at The St. Joe. Marek has previous experience working as the Chief Financial Officer for Orleans Homebuilders, Mattamy Homes, and Taylor Morrison.

Bakun joined Orleans Homebuilders at their bankruptcy emergence and was responsible for all aspects of financial reporting and compliance for private equity owners. Marek also managed Board of Directors meetings and helped develop business strategy. Under their leadership, the company acquired new homes with strong IRR and growth plans for ultimate liquidity event.

From April 2008 to October 2010, Bakun worked as the Chief Financial Officer for Mattamy Homes. In this role, they were responsible for all aspects of financial management, including cost management and operating efficiency. Marek was also focused on efficiently using capital to generate value for the owners.

Bakun’s longest tenure as Chief Financial Officer was with Taylor Morrison from March 1999 to April 2008. During their time with the company, they were responsible for all aspects of financial management, including cost management and operating efficiency. Marek was also focused on efficiently using capital to generate value for the owners.

Marek Bakun has a degree from the University of Central Florida and is a certified general contractor, certified public accountant, and real estate broker.
