Courtney John

Courtney John, MA, CPRP, CYSA has a diverse work experience spanning from 2004 to the present. Courtney started their career as a Service Writer at RD's Automotive and then moved on to work as a Student Worker at Concordia University - St. Paul. In 2008, Courtney interned at Metro Baseball League/MN Baseball Tournaments, where they organized youth baseball tournaments and handled various responsibilities as a Tournament Director. Courtney then took on multiple roles at Foot Locker, starting as a Sales Associate and eventually becoming an Assistant Manager and Sales Lead. Courtney joined OfficeMax in 2011 as an Operations Supervisor and Sales Specialist, where they handled logistics and sales responsibilities. Courtney later served as an Evening Field Supervisor at the City of Roseville, MN, supervising adult athletics. Courtney also worked at Northwestern Mutual (Michael W. Cooper) as the Director of Operations and Associate Financial Representative. Their most recent role is with the City of Saint Paul, where they began as a Community Recreation Specialist and was promoted to Community Recreation Director, overseeing the planning and implementation of diverse athletic activities for youth and adults.

Courtney John holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Sport Management from Concordia University-St. Paul, which was obtained in 2015. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sport Management from Bemidji State University in 2010. In 2008, Courtney John also earned a Bachelor of Arts (M.A.) degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Concordia University-St. Paul. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including being a Certified Youth Sports Administrator from the National Alliance For Youth Sports (obtained in October 2021), a Certified Park and Recreation Professional from the National Recreation and Park Association (obtained in September 2018), and holds certifications in Adult & Infant CPR/AED/First Aid from the American Red Cross (obtained in 2016), and Life, Accident, and Health Insurance Producer from the MN Department of Commerce (obtained in 2012).
