Pete Bacinski is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in birding and natural history. Since retiring in March 2015, Pete has been actively volunteering to lead birding and nature field trips. Additionally, since 2003, Pete serves as a weekly columnist for Inside Jersey Magazine at NJ.com, contributing a column focused on birding and nature. As the Program Director for NJ Audubon since September 1993, Pete has directed numerous programs, led eco-tours nationally and internationally, and developed educational content, including the All Things Birds Blog. Notable achievements include establishing the Sandy Hook Bird Observatory and the Owl Haven Nature Center. Pete's previous experience includes roles as an investment broker and a quality control manager, complemented by advanced degrees in biology and marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a bachelor's degree from Pace University.
