Joseph Porter

Joseph Porter is a seasoned legal and leadership professional with extensive experience in educational administration and advocacy. Currently serving as the Senior Vice Chancellor for Executive Leadership and Employee Development at the State University of New York since January 2018, Porter previously held significant roles, including Vice President for Legal and Governmental Affairs & General Counsel at Excelsior College and Deputy Counsel at the New York State Education Department. With a strong background in legal advocacy for both education and municipal governance, Porter has also contributed as an adjunct instructor and has represented various organizations on critical public education and municipal issues. Joseph Porter holds a JD from Albany Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in History/American Studies from Manhattan University.
