Robert Brabers

Robert Brabers has over 30 years of experience in finance and administration roles. Robert is currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at The Stevens Company Limited since September 2016. In this role, they are responsible for all financial matters nationally, including accounting, treasury management, financial reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, payroll & HR administration, tax compliance, and various corporate administration activities.

Prior to this, Robert served as the CFO at Equifax Canada Co. from August 1997 to August 2015. Equifax is the largest consumer and commercial credit reporting agency in Canada. Robert led a team of 22 in two locations, providing all financial support and was an active member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Before Equifax, Robert held the position of CFO & Director of Finance at Trophy Foods Inc. from June 1996 to July 1997. Robert managed a team of finance and office staff and focused on improving management reporting and operations results.

From September 1995 to June 1996, Robert worked as the Director of Finance & Administration at Holden Day Wilson, a mid-sized law firm partnership. Robert was responsible for finance, human resources, office services, and systems.

Robert's experience also includes their time at Syntex Inc., where they held various roles from 1983 to 1995. Robert served as the Controller & Director of Finance from 1993 to 1995, overseeing general accounting, tax, treasury, and office services. Robert also worked as a Controller from 1986 to 1993 and as a Manager of Financial Accounting from 1983 to 1986.

Earlier in their career, Robert worked as an Auditor at Deloitte from 1980 to 1983.

Robert Brabers attended the University of Toronto from 1976 to 1980, where they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree with a focus on Accounting and Finance. In 1982, they obtained a CPA, CA certification from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA Ontario). Additionally, in August 2018, they completed the Bullet Proof Manager certification from Crestcom International.
