Derek Mankin

Derek Mankin is an experienced engineering professional with a robust background in quality assurance and application engineering within the manufacturing sector. Currently serving as Team Lead - Application Engineering at The Timken Company since May 2019, Derek has held various roles including Senior Application Engineer and Senior Quality Engineer, focusing on Supplier Quality Development for sourced products and coatings. Prior to this, experience at Toyota North America from June 2013 to January 2019 involved senior engineering positions with a concentration on material quality in metals, including a Quality Engineer Co-op role. Earlier career experience includes a Process Engineer Co-op position at AK Steel, where responsibilities encompassed time studies and process optimization in electric arc furnace operations. Derek holds a Master of Business Administration from Northern Kentucky University and a bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati.
