Athena Brewer, MFT, has extensive experience in mental health and crisis services, currently serving as the Crisis Services Director at The Trevor Project since November 2012, where Athena supervises a team supporting LGBTQ youth through programs like TrevorChat and TrevorText. Previous roles include Senior Online Programs Manager at the same organization, focusing on expanding crisis support systems, and various internships in therapy and crisis intervention at organizations such as Secure Transitions, Inc., and Didi Hirsch, Suicide Prevention Center. Athena has held board membership at the Lesbian and Gay Psychotherapy Association, contributed as an adjunct faculty member at New College of California, and earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from New College of California, along with a Certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychology from The Psychoanalytic Center of California. Athena's educational background also includes a Bachelor's degree from William & Mary in Women's Studies.
