Crisis Services Lead Digital Supervisor at The Trevor Project

Shaun Anderson is the Crisis Services Digital Supervisor at The Trevor Project. Shaun has over 20 years of experience in the software industry, specializing in application modernization and cloud transformation.

Shaun began their career at Pearson as a Senior Software Architect. There, they led the design and development of a next-gen grade book and calculation engine. This system was microservice based using Spring Boot for REST API, AngularJS for the UI, Akka for handling the real-time score calculations and analytics and Cassandra for the data store. The system supported 10 million users across several thousand Universities throughout North America.

After Pearson, Shaun moved to Pivotal Software, Inc. as a Principal Solutions Architect. There, they provided leadership and strategy to consulting teams and clients to transform legacy workloads to to the cloud. Shaun also designed a Multi-Model Graph database using Titan on Cassandra used to store University Course, Section, Assignment, Scope and Sequence data. This application stored university course and assignment data and the relationships between them across institutions. This database currently supports almost 1 million vertex and 20 million edges.

Most recently, Shaun has been working at VMware as a Principal Solutions Architect - Office of the CTO-Global Field. In this role, they are responsible for Application Modernization. Shaun provides leadership and strategy to consulting teams and clients to transform legacy workloads to to the cloud. Shaun has also been evaluating Netflix OSS components Eureka, Hystrix, Archaius and

Shaun Anderson has a certification from Swiftbird Training and Certifications in Swift Method Instructor and Master Facilitator.
