Joan Rosenberg has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Joan is currently the Chief Operating Officer at The UC Theatre, a position they began in January 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Marketing and Social Responsibility Consultant at J. Rosenberg Consulting, LLC, starting in December 2018. Their role involved collaborating with nonprofit arts, financial, and healthcare organizations on mission-aligned partnerships, educational programs, and community engagement.
In 2021, Joan joined the Museum of the African Diaspora as a Marketing Communications Advisor, and later served as the Interim Director of Marketing & Corporate Partnerships from January 2021 to April 2022. Joan played a crucial role in managing brand marketing, communications, grants, and fundraising initiatives, as well as building mission-aligned partnerships.
Before their time at the Museum of the African Diaspora, Joan was the Director of Marketing & Communications at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco from February 2019 to December 2020. Their responsibilities included overseeing community impact marketing campaigns, communication strategies, and collaborating on grant writing and fundraising campaigns.
Prior to these roles, Joan held positions at AEG Presents as the Regional Director of Marketing from 2008 to 2018. Here, they led marketing strategies for flagship venues and live performances, focusing on increasing attendance and community engagement. Joan also spearheaded the development of an innovative supplier program aimed at improving equity.
Joan's experience in the arts and entertainment industry extends to Yoshi's Jazz Club and Japanese Restaurant, Inc., where they served as the Director of Marketing & Publicity from 2006 to 2008. During this time, they partnered with the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency to restore the Historic Fillmore Jazz Preservation District and opened a second Fillmore Jazz Club Restaurant and Gallery location.
Joan began their career in 1994 at American Express as a Client Manager, before transitioning to roles at Live Nation Entertainment, where they worked as a Sponsorship Manager from 1999 to 2003, and later as a Director of Marketing from 2003 to 2006.
Throughout their career, Joan has shown a passion for community engagement, mission-aligned partnerships, and social responsibility, utilizing their marketing skills to drive impact in the arts and entertainment sector.
Joan Rosenberg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing & Communications from Holy Names University.
