P. Jason Toppin

P. Jason Toppin has a strong background in critical care, anaesthesia, and intensive care. P. Jason has held various roles throughout their career, including Director of Critical Care at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) starting in 2020. Prior to that, they served as an Associate Lecturer in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at the University of the West Indies, Mona since 2012. P. Jason also worked as a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at the University Hospital of the West Indies starting in 2011. Additionally, they held the position of Director of Anaesthesia and Critical Care at the Heart Institute of the Caribbean from 2019 to 2021.

P. Jason Toppin has a diverse education history. P. Jason began by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Biology, General from Harvard University in 1995. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of the West Indies, Mona, completing it in 2001. Toppin then continued their medical education and training at the University of Toronto from 2009 to 2011, where they undertook a Clinical Fellow Anaesthesia and Intensive Care program. In 2011, they enrolled in the University of Liverpool and achieved a Masters in Public Health degree with a specialization in Epidemiology, which they completed in 2014. Returning to the University of the West Indies, Toppin pursued a D.M Anaesthesia and Intensive Care degree from 2003 to 2008. Lastly, they completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Applied Data Science from The University of the West Indies, Mona between 2019 and 2021.
