Nghia Chiem

Nghia Chiem serves as the Innovation and Commercialization Program Director at the University of Alabama, where significant accomplishments include securing $6M funding from the NSF ART program to enhance the university's innovation ecosystem and leading the technology transfer office. Previous roles include Adjunct Professor at Culverhouse College of Business, Intellectual Property Manager at the University of Tennessee, and Senior Scientist at Protein Discovery, Inc. with a focus on biotech product development. Chiem's diverse background includes entrepreneurship as a co-founder of Cytonome Inc. and work in business development and research across several organizations. Chiem holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Alberta, a Project Management Certificate from the University of Tennessee, and a B.Sc. in Chemistry and Physics from Simon Fraser University.
