Aashana Daru

Aashana Daru is a dedicated student currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Medicine at the University of Chicago, expected to graduate in June 2024. Aashana has served as a Student Research Assistant at UChicago Medicine's Chicago Center for HIV Elimination since March 2022 and is an active member of The Women's Network since July 2021. Previous experiences include conducting independent research as a SMART Scholar at the Smart Museum of Art, where Aashana focused on the works of Gerald Williams, and serving as a Near-Peer Mentor at Ci3 at the University of Chicago. Aashana also contributed as a Senior Copy Editor for The Chicago Maroon and a Contributing Writer for EnvironEarth, along with holding the position of Head of Communications for South Asian Youth X-Change. Aashana completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Oberoi International School in 2020.
