Bill Payne

Bill Payne serves as the Executive Director of Science and Technology at the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Chicago, focusing on the commercialization of innovations from faculty in various scientific fields. Prior to this role, Bill held multiple leadership positions, including Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Roberson and Associates, where expertise in 5G wireless and network technologies was applied, and Founder and CEO of BroadView Communications, which specialized in mobile access models. Bill's extensive experience also includes key roles at NSN - Nokia Solutions and Networks and Motorola Solutions, where contributions were made to mobile broadband and advanced technologies. Bill holds a PhD and MS in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and Georgia Institute of Technology respectively, along with a BS in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and certificates in leadership and management development from McGill University and the University of Chicago.
