Ellen-Marie Muhlbacher is the Associate VP of Strategic Information, Events, and Stewardship at The University of Chicago. Ellen-Marie has over twenty years of experience in the field of development and fundraising, with a focus on research, donor services, stewardship, and grants resources.

Muhlbacher began their career in development at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where they spent six years as the Director of Development Research. Ellen-Marie then moved to the Boston Symphony Orchestra, where they served as the Director of Development Administration for three years. In 2001, they took a position as the Director of Human Resources, Systems and Administration for the Philadelphia Orchestra Association.

Muhlbacher left the Philadelphia Orchestra Association in 2005 to join the American Red Cross as their Senior Director of Development Resources. Ellen-Marie held this position for three years before moving to National Public Radio as their Director of Development Resources and Consultant in 2008. Ellen-Marie remained at NPR for just over a year before taking their current position at Elmhurst College in 2009.

At Elmhurst College, Muhlbacher served as the Executive Director of Development for three years. In 2012, they accepted their current position at The University of Chicago.

Ellen-Marie Muhlbacher has a masters in English from The University of Dallas.
