Jotham Austin, II, PhD, is a Research Associate Professor and Facility Director of Advanced Electron Microscopy at the University of Chicago, a position held since August 2005. Responsibilities include integrating Advanced Transmission Electron Microscopy Techniques into research programs, overseeing lab supplies and equipment, and training users of the facility. Previously, Jotham Austin served as a USDA Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Colorado from August 2001 to August 2005, where research focused on mitotic and cytokinetic microtubule arrays in Arabidopsis meristem cells and membrane biogenesis using thylakoid membranes of Arabidopsis thaliana. Jotham Austin earned a PhD in Botany from Arizona State University from 1996 to 2001 and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, from 1992 to 1996.
