Melissa Sherwin

Melissa Sherwin is the Director of Provost Communications and serves as the primary contact for all Office of the Provost communications.

Prior to joining the University of Chicago in 2019, Melissa owned and operated a consulting business where she created strategic marketing and communications plans for various organizations. With extensive experience in academia, Melissa previously held leadership positions at the Associated Colleges of the Midwest and at Loyola University Chicago. She began her career in publishing, working in the arts/entertainment, education, and healthcare sectors. Melissa is also a freelance journalist for several national publications and is an award-winning multimedia producer. Her second feature-length film is currently in pre-production.

Melissa received a master’s degree in journalism from Roosevelt University and a bachelor’s degree in English and theatre from Elmhurst University.
