Tamara Smith is an assistant director supporting Geertrui M. Spaepen and collaborating with others in the Office of the Provost on special projects.
Prior to joining the University in 2016, she was an administrative officer at the School of Social Work at Columbia University in New York. She also has administrative experience at Heartland Alliance for Human Needs and Human Rights, Loyola University Chicago, and KPMG LLC. In an earlier life she was a journalist with ABC/Cap Cities and a fact-checker for Encyclopædia Britannica.
Tamara earned her master’s degree in sociology from Loyola University Chicago. Her undergraduate work was in English, psychology, and educational policy studies.
