Ciro Romano

Ciro Romano is a skilled researcher with a strong background in organic chemistry and catalysis. Currently serving as a Research Officer and Post-Doctoral Research Associate under Prof. David J. Procter at The University of Manchester since September 2022, Ciro previously worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at ICIQ from January 2019 to May 2022, focusing on catalytic methods involving nickel catalysis and the transformation of strong C-H and C-O bonds. Additional experience includes a research grant at Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna in 2014, an apprenticeship in Organic Synthesis and Methodology under Prof. Marco Bandini, and a Master Thesis in Chemistry of Natural Products at Istituto di Chimica Biomolecolare, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche. Ciro holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Geneva, completed in December 2018, and a degree from Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, obtained in 2013.
