Lakoa Fitina

Lakoa Fitina is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in higher education, currently serving as a Professor at The University of Papua New Guinea since February 2021. Prior roles include Associate Professor at the University of Goroka (June 2018 - February 2021) and at PNG University of Technology (2016 - June 2018), as well as Director at the Bougainville Institute of Business and Technology (2012 - 2015). Lakoa Fitina previously held a prominent position as Associate Professor and Head of Department at Divine Word University (2006 - 2012) and started the academic journey as a Lecturer at the University of the South Pacific (2002 - 2006) and the University of Papua New Guinea (1987 - 2002). Lakoa Fitina's educational background includes a Doctorate in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Wollongong and multiple degrees in Mathematics from the University of Papua New Guinea. Early educational experiences include attendance at Fulton College, Arawa High School, and Hujena High School.
