Aidan Byrne

As Provost, Professor Aidan Byrne is the Vice-Chancellor's senior deputy and a critical contributor to the general management of the University. The Provost deputises for the Vice-Chancellor in their absence.

The Provost is responsible for building the University’s academic capability and embedding a performance culture in support of the University’s strategic objectives. This includes the promotion of interdisciplinary innovation and collaboration.

The office of the Provost leads the University budget and strategic planning process and is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the performance of the University’s faculties and major research institutes. The Provost also oversees risk management and the allocation of significant human, financial and capital resources of the University.
