Dr Mobashwer Alam

Dr. Mobashwer Alam is a highly experienced researcher and academic, currently serving as the Team Leader for the National Passionfruit Breeding and Evaluation Program and as an Advance Queensland Industry Fellow at The University of Queensland since September 2015. Dr. Alam leads national breeding programs for passionfruit and macadamia, focusing on novel breeding strategies. Previous roles include Honorary Advisor at the International Macadamia Research and Development Center and Senior Plant Breeder at Nuseed Pty Ltd, where significant advancements in sorghum hybrid development were achieved. With a PhD in Plant Molecular Genetics from The University of Queensland and extensive academic experience, including positions as Assistant Professor and Lecturer in Genetics and Plant Breeding, Dr. Alam has contributed to multidisciplinary research and education while maintaining a commitment to professional development throughout their career.
