Ian Henderson

Ian Henderson is the Executive Director of the Institute for Molecular Bioscience at The University of Queensland, a position held since January 2020, following a role as Deputy Director of Research at the same institute from September 2018. Prior to this, Ian Henderson served as Director of The Institute for Microbiology and Infection and Professor of Microbial Biology at the University of Birmingham from September 2001 to September 2018. Additional professional roles include Chair of the Prokaryotic Division for the Society for General Microbiology between August 2007 and September 2011, as well as Reviews Editor for FEMS Microbiology Letters from September 2003 to September 2011. Ian Henderson's academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology and Bacteriology from Trinity College Dublin and a B.Sc. in Industrial Microbiology from University College Dublin.
