Professor Jane Edwards

Professor Jane Edwards, PhD, currently serves as Editor of the Qualitative Research Journal at SAGE since January 2025 and holds an honorary professorship in the School of Music at The University of Queensland. From April 2018 to January 2025, Jane was a Professor and Executive Dean at the University of New England, where significant leadership was demonstrated in restructuring the faculty and enhancing the research portfolio. Jane's previous positions include Editor-in-Chief of The Arts in Psychotherapy from 2015 to 2019, Associate Professor in Mental Health at Deakin University, and inaugural President of the International Association for Music and Medicine. Jane's academic career also includes multiple leadership roles at the University of Limerick, and guest professorships at institutions such as The Berlin University of the Arts. Jane's educational background features a PhD in Paediatrics & Child Health from The University of Queensland and a Certificate in Refugee Trauma from Harvard University.
